KRONE at the French Solutrans 2017 Trade Fair in Lyon
Trailer manufacturer offers city logistics, commercial vehicles, and services in France
Werlte/Lyon, November 2017. Commercial vehicle manufacturer Krone is participating in the Solutrans trade fair (Salon International des Solutions de Transport Routier et Urbain) in Lyon from November 21 to 25 2017. Krone will showcase the Dry Liner dry freight box body, the Cool Liner refrigerated semitrailer, the City Liner flatbed semitrailer along with Mega Liner Multos and telematics.
Krone is strengthening its position in France with its Lyon-based subsidiary Krone France. Its new expertise centre in Pusignan near the trade fair grounds in Lyon offers new and used vehicles, classic service, and finance and fleet services. Krone France sells more than 2,000 new vehicles and roughly 500 used vehicles through Krone Used. The centre covers a total area of 20,000 m², 300 m² of which are used for office space. The Krone Centre provides local final assembly, maintains a 550 m² replacement parts warehouse, and a 200 m² service workshop. 25 employees work here, including the Krone Fleet team.

KRONE Commercial Vehicle Group
The Krone family business is among the market leaders in commercial vehicles and agricultural machinery. Its product portfolio in the commercial vehicle division includes semitrailers and coffer-type semitrailers, container chassis, swap systems, trailers, motor vehicle superstructures, and CEP vehicles for parcel services. Customer requirements go far beyond the vehicle. Krone offers a comprehensive service package that particularly includes telematics, replacement parts, financing, rental vehicles, and marketing used vehicles. In-house components, such as the Krone trailer axle and the all-in-Krone trailer, ensure that the customer can trust one contact person for all their questions.
In five decades, the Krone Group's annual sales volume has increased from roughly 8.5 million euros to nearly 1.8 billion euros today. The Krone Group's main revenue generators are commercial vehicles (Fahrzeugwerk Krone and subsidiaries) with sales of roughly 1.2 billion euros. Krone has manufactured roughly 48,000 vehicle units (approx. 37,000 semitrailers and nearly 11,000 swap systems) in the past fiscal year; Germany continued to be the strongest sales market at 30 percent, followed by Western Europe (41%), and Eastern Europe (27%).
The Krone Group employs 4,300 workers worldwide. This strong increase in the number of employees is due to the growth of the Krone Commercial Vehicle Group; approx. 2,500 employees are currently working on vehicle production at the Wertle, Herzlake (both at Emsland/Lower Saxony), Dinklage (at Osnabruck), Lübtheen (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern), and Tire (Turkey) locations.
